Is it time for you to visit the dentist? It’s important to see your dentist at least twice a year for regular checkups and cleanings; this is one of the most important ways to maintain a healthy mouth. If you are a new patient or it’s been a while since you visited a dentist, you may have questions and anxieties about the process. Knowing what to expect can help ease your concerns and make you feel more comfortable. At Woodside Dental, it is always our goal to make our patients feel at ease – providing a comfortable environment in which you feel taken care of is our top priority!
If you are wondering what to expect at your dental visit, here is some information to help you feel prepared.
What to Know About Your First Visit to Woodside Dental
When you come into Woodside Dental, the first thing you’ll notice is our clean, comfortable waiting room and our friendly, welcoming staff. The Woodside staff will welcome you in for your appointment, and will clearly explain what services you are scheduled for that day. We’ll also go over the expected costs for treatment, and review your insurance coverage and payment options. We will always work with you to make sure you understand your treatment plan, the costs, and the method of payment.
Patient Forms
If you are a new patient to our office, we will need you to fill out some important new patient forms. Printing, filling them out in advance, and bringing them with you to your appointment will allow us to attend to your dental needs more quickly than completing them on your arrival. Please feel free to call our office if you have any questions about the forms.
X-rays, Examination, and Cleaning
If X-rays are required our X-ray technician will take them and then seat you in an exam room. Once you are taken into the exam room for your visit, the dentist will ask about your recent medical history, review any x-rays, conduct a complete screening of your whole mouth, and discuss with you any issues that need to be addressed. The dental hygienist will then complete a thorough cleaning of your teeth, and depending on your individual needs, may use a special dental instrument to check your gums for gum disease.
Dental Insurance
We are a preferred provider for most insurance companies and we accept a large variety of dental insurance plans. If you have questions about whether Woodside accepts your dental insurance, please call to inquire at (805) 647-1322.
Dental Financing & Payment Options
At Woodside, we also offer a wide range of payment options as well as affordable dental care financing. Our staff is happy to assist you in finding the best option to suit you.
